Josh Coxon began his obsession with music and guitar as a toddler, sifting through his parents’ record collection and grabbing the broom out from the kitchen to “play along”. He graduated to the real thing aged 8, and before long was hitting local jam sessions with his dad. Josh was gigging regularly by the age of 15, honing his skills on guitar, vocals and bass.
Since finishing school, he has continued to perform across a huge variety of genres on stage and in the studio. In 2016, Josh completed a Bachelor of Music degree at QUT, graduating with first class honours, consolidating his musical knowledge, and even tutoring in music production techniques as a postgraduate student.
Josh currently finds himself regularly producing and performing music with his solo project Simi Lacroix, indie/electronic band These Guy, in various pop/rock covers acts, DJ’ing at local bars and even hosting trivia nights.
Excited to pass on the knowledge he has accumulated over his 25+ years of playing guitar, Josh is intent on delivering a relaxed and supportive teaching experience that values the individual interests and goals of each student, with patience and encouragement at every step of the way.
